Your jacket. You can't call it as "ace ace" - double ace! - without photographic proof.
I'm sorry. I am an empiricist and I have my standards.

You need photographic proof that my experience of not getting very wet in heavy rain, coupled with my happiness and appreciation of having bought a useful, warm, hand made coat made in bonny Scotland from Ventile and gaberdine (that part was the second Ace)? I'm going to find that hard to photograph.
Basically, my legs were wet and cold, cos they didn't have this coat on. Take it from me.

Don't suppose anyone that knows anywhere that stocks these in london? I'm always dubious of buying clothing from the interwebz.
Though I'll be sure to check out Old Hat next time I'm putney way.

Nope. They are pretty much made to order. Also, you can get a custom one made, by giving them your meaurements to be sure it fits you well (maybe if you have odd proportions this is wise). I could let you try on my Large sometime if you like.

I wanna see skully in the jacket
[nothing else mind, perhaps a cheeky over the shoulder pose, finger on lips kind of thing…]
That comment is useless without grainy mobile phone pics.

I'll take as wrote your description of Scotland as "bonny."
Just show us the £%&*("ing jacket.

Wow. That is deep fried in cool and smothered in awesome sauce.
May hassle you for sizing at "Sarfs" on Monday.

Skully cheers for the tips
They will make up the jacket exactly to spec, and would rather I send in exact measurements than ask for a medium or large
For anyone else they need chest size, arm length and drop from neck to the bottom hem.
I will meet with Skully soon just to have a look see at his jacket, will bring tape measure and then send them the details.
They have also said they can knock me up a summer gillet (though 3 other fuckers have already had them made). Would possibly ask them to base it on the rapha gillet.

There are a few of these for sale on Ebay at the moment. I put "super nomad" in the search and found two.
-
• #45
Despite a prolonged search I failed to find anything equivalent to the Greenspot jackets once made by Bertram Dudley. But I did find a small company that made me a good copy out of Ventile, lined with gaberdine, for £110. It's a fine job and I'm well pleased with my new Super Nomad jacket! I expect there are other firms that could do this, but I can recommend Hilltrek, Ballater Road, Aboyne, AB34 5HT; tel: 01339 886062.
Sod the jacket! That's Norman Taylor with his Jack Taylor.
