I meant to add the sort of thing I'm looking for would be a Kona Smoke, Dawes Onedown/Sardar, I'd consider a Rockhopper as well. Something of that ilk, I figure I'll spend a lot fitting it out so it wouldn't be a bad idea to save some cash on the frame.

I have a 19" ctc seat tube Orange Clockwork 1993 frame. Its got rack brazes etc. No fork- but a decent steel touring fork is easy to get hold of. Im only after £50 collected for it ( it has a very small ding in the top tube)
Its matt black - paint has seen better days, but not too bad - stripped off decals (new ones on ebay for £8 posted though ).
Some crap pics available- can get better ones if needed.

bob jackson 'expedition'
reynolds designer select (mostly 531st or the rarer 531 ATB (531st in oversize??? ) no doubt) custom made 26' wheel tourer (not MTB) frame set. - so built in geometry and tubing for fully loaded touring
all rack points on there and 3 bottle points,
- 57cm ish on the top tube.
any good to you ?
in Manchester but i can post it.
also may have other bits of use (such as NOS stx hubs), seatpost, racks, mechs etc. - how are you setting it up? how much have you already got - could set up as full expedition bike possibly...
- 57cm ish on the top tube.

Nice, yeah I'm interested in the Jackson. I'll pm you with a few questions.
Right, I had an ad up looking for a traditional touring frame but plans have since changed and I'll be heading on a bigger adventure than expected along the silk route and to China.
Therefore I've decided a 26" tourer would be more in order for the extra bumps, general remoteness, lack of spare tyres, tubes and all that sort of stuff. In which case if anyone has a high class steel mtb or even better 26" tourer (although that's ambitious I admit) I would be interested in buying. Basically I want braze ons for a rack and mudguard mounts, and a large frame, 21 or 22". I'm willing to pay up to 150ish, over which I figure I may as well go for a new On-one or something like it. I very much like the idea of using a used frame, there are enough bikes out there already for all of us I reckon, which is why I'm inclined towards second hand.
Thanks,
