You could try sitting it on a radiator all night (or in an oven on a keep warm setting) to dry it out inside. Pour as much oil inside as you can through the key hole to prevent any more water getting inside. Then keep it in an air tight bag for transportation (ziplock or just clingfilm would do). Might just keep it dry enough to not turn solid when it does go sub-zero.
