  • Hi everyone, I am new to the forum but have been browsing it for a while now. I was finally prompted to join when I saw a vintage Raleigh for sale. I'm not actually a huge fan of fixed gears - few too many steep hills on my commute - but I've always found the info in these forums useful.

I'm looking forward to being able to participate now I'm signed up!

  • we like hills...where do you commute?

  • Well, some of us do... I hate them

  • Ha, just signed up..

    Cheers from Utrecht, Holland

  • Hello, been registered for a while. Never posted.

    So hi...

  • Hi everyone! Greetings from Finland.

  • Hello everyone,

I'm something of a singlespeed/fixie newbie coming back into cycling after a few years break. Really impressed with the site and the friendly people on here. Hopefully I'll soon have my own bike built...when I figure out my frame size (doh!) and crack on with it!

In the mean time - hello everybody! :)

  • Hello!

Been on here for a few months but hadn't gotten around to posting yet.

  • Greatings MrNick!

Welcome to the best forum in the internetz!

  • Hello hello!

Been lurking on here for a good few months and have finally bought a frame so can start work on my first fixed build. Looking forward to the challenge and a new riding experience once it's finished.

    Pete

  • Morning All,

Joined here about a year ago, have just moved south (to Chelmsford) and I'm going to be building my first fixed gear soon (sounds like a FisherPrice toy?!).

Anyway, I've just picked up a cheap Peugeot frame on eBay (after my last got wrecked by a car), so hopefully I should have something to show for my efforts soon!

    Anyone else near Chelmsford/Essex?

    Ciao! Ben

  • Alright geezer.. Welcome to the forum init.

  • Hi everyone been finding all kinds of usefull stuff on here and lots of jokes, also the rides sound great!

  • Hello all!

I've just joined, mainly because I'm thinking of selling my Langster, to be honest. I'll still have a singlespeed left afterwards though (Inbred). I've not gone off singlespeeding, but since I plan to use the Oxford Tube bus a lot, I'll probably bite the bullet and get a Brompton so that I'll be guaranteed a place on the bus (bus will take full size bikes, but maximum of two, and is often full at commuting o'clock).

  • I'm sure you'll have no problem shifting your Langster. As long as it isn't the one that's the same colour as a turd.

Erm... I could always hammerite it?

  • No don't do that, dents will only decrease it's value.

  • Hullo all, I'm Daniel from Ireland, I have bicycles and often find it convenient to ride them. A black one, a white one and a silver one. Merry Christmas.

  • hehe...hello Schnell! Merry Xmass!

  • Hello folks, greetings from Croatia, cool site ;-)

  • My name is ben and i am new here, its my pleasure to join this community to find some information and good friends here.

  • I joined a while ago, been slying myself in, i joined because i was lurking so much, almost on a criminal level, and i love the banter and im pretty thick skinned.

  • Welcome all.

  • Hi, I somehow neglected to introduce myself earlier. Poor form, I know... I currently live in Belgium and am new to road bikes but not to single-speeds. I recently finished a vintage (roughly the same age as me) Motobécane single-speed conversion and toying with the idea of also installing a cog on the other side of my flipflop hub. Actually, I already ordered the cog and lock ring, so it's a question of when rather than if.
