• Hi everyone,
I’ve just sorted out another lot of interesting frames. Shipping on frames within the UK will be £11 - other items can ship free of charge in the same box. I can ship anywhere in the world at a reasonable cost.

    ALL ITEMS ARE IN BRISTOL

    MKM TRACK FRAME 1970s
    Seat Tube (ctt): 20.5in (52cm)
    Top Tube (ctc): 20.25in (51.5cm)
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted tubing
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Wheel size: 700C with brake drop of 50mm
MKM stood for the three original partners in the firm - Arthur METCALFE, Ron KITCHING & Wes MASON and the frames were built in Harrogate during the 1970s and I think early 1980s. This small track frame is very nicely built with tight clearances and some cool features such as the engraved seatstay tops and fork crown. And the paint is in very sound condition. But it has a dent to the down tube which looks as if something has been dropped on it - this will not affect how it rides or its strength. £145

    KEN BIRD?/ARGOS TRACK FRAME
    Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 700C/sprints with brake drop of 48mm
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This frame has been converted by Argos with track ends. I suspect it originally started off as a close clearance TT frame with steep angles and it was suggested to me that the frame number (BBC169) meant that it originated from Ken Birds shop … BBC standing for Birds Bicycle Centre). I think that is quite likely as in the 70s and early 80s he specialised in TT frames with drilling such as this one has in the BB. Whatever it now makes an excellent track frame. £185

RALEIGH 501 ROAD FRAME 1988 ** NEW AND UNUSED**
    Seat Tube (ctt): 59cm (23.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
    Seatpost size: 27.0mm
    Frame tubing: Reynolds 501
Raleigh 501 road frames are really rather nicely built and this is a rather cool frame ideal for fixed or singlespeed conversion. It is brand new and never been used though there are one or two small shopwear marks, none of which are obtrusive. £95

    THOMPSON ROAD FRAME 1989
    Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22.in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
    Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 51mm)
    Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Andy Thompson built frames under his own name near Huddersfield before becoming Orbit’s framebuilder in the later 1980s - this frame seems to be from 1987. The paint is generally excellent and the frame does not have any dents or dings. It has an excellent Stronglight A9 headset. It would make an easy fixed or singlespeed conversion. £95

    HARRY QUINN ROAD FRAME 1972
    Seat Tube (ctt): 55cm (21.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.25in)
    Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 51mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Harry Quinn from Liverpool had an enviable reputation as a framebuilder and many of the frame builders from the north-west learnt their skills from him. This frame dates from late 1972 and is in very sound condition. The fastback/shot-in seatstays are a very distinctive feature of Harry Quinn’s work. It could easily be used as a very cool conversion. £95

RALEIGH RECORD ACE ROAD FRAME 1983
    Seat Tube (ctt): 62cm (24.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 27s or 700C with 60mm brake drop
    Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This Raleigh Record Ace road frame from 1983 is built from Reynolds 531C tubing and is in very good condition - for a tall rider it will make an excellent conversion or winter bike. £89

    RALEIGH MIXTE FRAME
    Seat Tube (ctt): 19.5in (50cm)
    Top Tube (ctc): 21.5in (55cm)
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 27s or 700C with brake drop 57mm
This Raleigh mixte frame is in very sound condition and would make an excellent budget fixie or singlespeed town bike... £39

TEAM BRITE MICRO LO-PRO TT FRAME Reynolds 853 c1998 built by Paul Donohue
    Ex Chris Newton
    Seat Tube (ctt): 44.5cm (17.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 130mm
    Wheel size: 700C
    Frame tubing: Reynolds 853
This frame is an ex Team Brite micro lo-pro frame that was ridden by Chris Newton around 1998 and is beautifully built from Reynolds 853 tubing. Paul Donohue’s works built all the Team Brite frames and they employed a tig welder who was truly superb - in my opinion he was just as good as the tig welders at Merlin who I had seen working back in 1994. Its a really gorgeous frame which would equate to about a conventional 21.5 in road frame and is designed for use with a long aero seatpost and aero bars of course. It comes complete as shown in the photos with its original bladed carbon fibre forks. £195
