I witnessed a taxi this morning bump and i think buckle the rear wheel of a bike. The
girl cyclist stopped and was shaken but the taxi kept on going. It
took place along shaftesbury avenue at the junction with charing cross
road. I was alongside the taxi and directly behind the girl. I chased
after the driver, told him to wait and then went back to tell the
victim. By the time i got back she had gone. I would like to make sure
that if any damage or injury occurred or if she wants to take it
further that she has his registration. It was P252 SUC. I would
especially like the taxi driver to learn that hitting a cyclist is no
small matter. He carried on driving even though he knew he had hit
her. When I caught him up later and told him about it he agreed to
pull over. of course, he didn't even stop then. It was fortunate that
the accident wasn't major but even so his attitude suggest he thinks
making contact with a cyclist is no big deal and that if he keeps
moving he'll get away with it.
thanks
