Having a bit of a classic rock moment. Maybe it's because I've bought a car. I've come over all Clarkson.

^I've never understood how Roger Daltrey could be the front-man for The Who - no charisma, not fit to even be their roadie. Anyway, this is still the tits - wicked track, excellent footage

I sort of agree but fuck me can he sing. Listen to that scream he does in the post I made. I quite like the fact he looks so uncool & always does that weird jogging thing. And the mike throwing / catching. In fact come on - what's not to like.

He's not for me. Stack him against Moon, Townshend and Entwistle - he doesn't belong there. Sure he can sing, but he's a bit too safe amongst that company. He's a bit Status Quo really.

Exactly, for me he always looked like someone filling in, waiting for the main act. A professional angler in waiting.

Might be a self-repost, but this is an absolutely amazing tune and an even better performance.

back in the early to mid 80's my older sister worked in the town's local half decent record store. I got a load of free records. the only band i was into was depeche mode. I got a instore promo copy of a mute records label video which featured a track from various bands on their label including of course Depeche Mode and Nick Cave when he was with the birthday party. me and Jonny used to baby sit for various mates of my older sisters and we often watched that over and over again. i was depeche mode and Jonny was simple minds through and through. there was also a tragic song from some geezer with a ridiculous haircut and voice i'm searching for it now
god love youtube---- found it. we pissed ourselves at this video even thenhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ku2dSM9v41g
ok haircut is not too bad :)
