  • Not sure on the content - just tuned in ....

  • If it's Vine then the it'll be like Kyle with longer words and a bit of Torygraph thrown in with Daily Fail

  • Cheers will avoid radio 2 for a bit.

  • desparate- he just sits on the fence stoking the fires of what ever argument he prescides over.

  • Ha, lols all round. I actually like Vine though.

  • desparate- he just sits on the fence stoking the fires of what ever argument he prescides over.

Unlike Kyle, who like to sit on the stage beneath the fence and looks up to it like a perverse upskirt goblin who loves to stoke a bit of famliy drama with his flash of panties.

  • I dunno if it's common knowledge but he's tim vine's brother

  • Unlike Kyle, who like to sit on the stage beneath the fence and looks up to it like a perverse upskirt goblin who loves to stroke a bit of flesh at the family drama.

    Fixed

  • Just wondering if an editing of Kyle's wikipedia page to include the phrase upskirt goblin would remain uncensored.

  • Depends on how well it was hidden I suppose.

  • Jemery vine is a total prick! BBC basically has no station for people who are between 25 -40 because if you do listen to radio 2 you've got to listen to this cunt when your having lunch. 6 musics decent but it's just fucking digital. Radio 2 is the biggest pile of middle england wank.................. I could go on at infinatum

    +1

  • hi all,

heads up that i will be on the JV show at about 1.30pm today talking about my recent paper on cycling deaths and the fact that lorries should be banned from city centres.

i don't know if there will be any call in bits (i gather there are sometimes, but not always)

    cheers!

  • I thought i should make a title so that it was distinguished from the previous part of this thread.

  • @tiswas - Not Long, the first caller they let through. He also suggested being killed by lories was evolution at work and should be encouraged, as well as banning cyclists. Deeply offensive, of course.

d0cA - Brave effort. I was impressed how you turned that around by pointing out that cycling is not dangerous and cornering JV with his "inconvenience" nonsense.

  • You sounded very nervous to begin with but got your stride, good on you for countering JV with the pavement cycling.

    Callers were very predictable,

  • Good work, Andrei.

Did he go as far as encouraging it? That is quite far even for JV.

The comment showed how D0ca had him on the ropes as he laughed to end that line.

  • He did. I think the caller screening is based on the people that fail the US visa "are you a Nazi" question.

I'd find it hard to keep my calm with such peeps, despite the obvious set-up. d0cA did well in the considering the context of the show:

  • was this better than when xxxxing xxxxx was on with him? not too unhappy I missed it,
sounds like you kept your cool anyway well done.

  • Thanks for the support, people :) I'm a little bit gutted I didn't get any longer (I think the previous person went on way over his time) as lynx is right, I was just getting into my stride and then JV kept on cutting me off. I think I did make one mistake when I said that some people are not too bright when riding down the side of lorries, so sorry if I offended anyone with that. However, I think the example about Dublin was good.

For those who missed it, it's on the BBC iPlayer at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b00w04sw/Jeremy_Vine_26_11_2010 (linked from the JV home page) for the next week. It starts about 1.49 into the show - i.e. right before the end.

    Cheers!

  • I liked the exchange about pavement riding after the moronic first caller.

Andrei: "Bicycles don't kill people, lorries & cars kill people"
JV: "But what about when they cycle on pavements?"
Andrei: "How many deaths have been caused by cyclists?"
    ---------Pause
JV: "yes but they cause inconvenience."
    ---------Silence.

    Nice one

Apt song aftwards "Ain't nothing gonna change"
