yo dude,
ive just been through this and ended up with an awesome bargain bike for an absolut bargain.
some tips:
join a couple of websites (broadens your search) also check gumtree etc.
ask peoples advice.
definitely buy second hand (you will get so much more for your money)
dont be afraid to buy a couple of parts so that if you get a good frame with one or two parts that arent that good then you can upgrade.
