You're also reliable. Decent.
(Oh, and Sunday may very well see me at polo) -

I'm not reliable
But then I don't drink so I'm easily distracted away from pubs.
Can't think of anything better though. -

THIS FRIDAY!
I'm going to try and head out for the ride on Friday, but will head back to the Spotted Dog for BHX Beers. I hope to get there for (as soon as the ride ends) 8.30pm at the latest.
Hope to see some of you.... -

Where are we all meeting first?
-
• #106
@ daylightbombings - if you're up for a ride first, meet at 7pm at Moseley Square in Moseley (opposite the Bulls Head). This is being organised by Mastershredder.
BHX beers usually kicks off after work (as this is the kind of vibe we want), but seeing as we're a cycling community, riding trumps beer. The 6.30pm meet is still on for those who can't ride, we'll catch up (with anyone) later.... -

Looks like I'm going to miss this, apologies.

• #108
was there not one this friday then?
-
• #109
Myself, Master_shredder and his pals that was it
The rest of you fail at life -

in everyone else's defence, the last activity on this thread was 'one week ago*' so how was anyone to know that anything was happening?
*due to some stupid date display setting on this forum nobody can tell exactly when that was - stuff that was posted 7-13 days ago is still marked as '1 week ago' ffs!

BHX beers is every second week. The last one was following the night ride on the 12th. I couldn't make the ride, but i was at the Spotted Dog.
Next beers session will be on tour at the German Markets. 26th Nov. 6.30pm.
Meet at the bottom of the steps, Victoria Square.
We'll find a spot to lock up bikes, then get into some weissbier and oversized pretzels. Or chestnuts. Or Wiener. Or mulled wine. Fuck, i love this time of year.
Its a waste of time trying to round people up. Nobody commits. Just be there. -

I was going to veto the Germingham markets this year on account of their mainly-Polish recruitment policy, laughable prices and indescribable tweeness. But I don't feel strongly enough to not come to this, so expect me, and possibly the missus.
I'm making no promises not to moan about it though...
- 1, on the futility of rounding people up. It only seems to work for polo, and even then it's far from foolproof. You have to build momentum for any kind of regular event for lists, but by then, they're not really necessary. We still use them for polo because most people can't be bothered riding their polo bike on a 45 minute round trip if only 3-4 people are going to show up.
I do love a good list though...

I do totally agree with the markets comment Dan, so i reckon a beer there, then maybe a walk to the Wellington or the Old Joint Stock may be in order.
-
• #114
I'll be there
I locked my ride up behind the big screen for like 3 hours
was fine :) -
• #115
I'll try to come by. Be nice to get to know some people around here

6:30 Victoria Square.
Tonight.1st sip of the evening will be in Birminghams best ale house. The Wellington.
Those who are out for a while can spill out into the market's masses if desired.
See you this evening.... -
• #117
Where will people be locking up for this? (I'm not planning a mass heist)
-
• #118
There's an alley around the back of the Wellington which backs on to the Joint Stock. It sounds dodgy by that description, but it's worth a look, I think there's loads of railings and people from both pubs smoke and drink all night there.

YES N3LSON! Get involved!
I seem to need to eat every couple of hours, so i may very well take advantage of being able to take food into the Welli. -

I've acquired a rotten cold, so probably have to give tonight a miss. Will cruise on down if I'm feeling better after some nosh and lemsip.
