  • hatty hat hat, head thing, head warmer, heated bonce, helmet, hot head, toasty noggin
    hippy tagging at its finest....

  • very nice :)

  • massive win John :)

  • The asos hat came the other day, and you definitely get what you pay for. Its like an old school cap with an extra bit sewn on, the seam where they join is really lumpy, they've obviously done a massive hem on the cap bit. Warmthwise its ok, I'm sure a wool one will be better, so I decided to go for the Raleigh one. At least it was only 6 quid...

  • massive win John :)

i like the pirate one but the bigger image is blocked here at work so cant link to it

  • if hats suited me I'd definitely get that Raleigh one from Prendas.

  • Very few people can carry that hat look well. Once you start losing your hair you'll get over how ridiculous you look and go for warmth.

  • Speak for yourself. I look great in hats. The more of my head and face they cover the better I look.

  • You are clearly one of the fortunate few then, Andy.

  • Is that you on the left in the pic in post #51 btw?

  • Ha, no. I'm the youngster in the background.

You cycled very well that day IIRC.

The pirate one is clearly the ONE! Top of my Christmas list :)

  • £6 on ASOS. worth a punt i'm thinking

    £4.80

    Thicker than they look.

  • I have the Rapha knitted hat. While beautifully constructed, and delightfully warm, it often inches up my head while riding and I end up looking like Dappy from N-Dubz's older, much more attractive, brother. I'm going to bust it out again after this weekend in the hope that my longer hair than last winter will help it stay in place.

  • What about a bit of possum fur? Humanely harvested from the floor of the possum grooming emporium I'm sure!

From Solo, never tried it but it looks ok! http://www.solocc.com/product.cfm?cid=16&pid=41

  • possum/merino stuff is really nice. possum fur is super soft.

Possums are like rats in NZ, tearing the native forest apart, so don't feel bad for buying stuff made out of them.

  • does anyone know how the fit is for the raleigh one? Im sure my girlfriend could do with a nudge on the xmas present idea front...

  • Sugoi Wallaroo 290. Good fit, warm, breathing, comfy.
More technical look. Very soft and nice in touch. No sweaty head!

Rapha+Paul Smith. Twice as much, comfy, warm, but doesn't cover ears that well. Looser fit than Sugoi and more suitable for bigheads.
    More old school look.

Its good, however the one size fits all would suggest that it is better for slightly larger heads.

  • Save money. Find an old t-shirt (the old forum bamboo ones work a treat, and become a t-shirt ninja. Warm, and you look awesome.

  • These seem cheap for Merino. Are they any good?

  • Hard to go wrong for £15, apart from it being Wheelies/Tredz.

  • Is it 100% merino?
