When are we having a mass Coventry ride?
Not for the want of trying
Every time I Suggest it, people are busy. -

Stats time!
Biggest turnout ever for Cov FG ride = 5
Allthough my faves were when 4 of us went to the BMX track then ended up at the Greyhound for a drink, or the time me and Joe headed out to Wroxhall one Sunday evening.
Happy days. Hope you can keep it growing.

Well considering a few of you think Bedworth isnt in or near Coventry we're not going to ride very far...
Come play Polo tomorrow at Highgate in B'ham.
You know it makes sense

My BMX track? down the towpath that me and my mates started with a single jump when I was 10 (i'm now 23) it's now been upscaled to the level where no one rides it, which is a shame. Or the skate park in Beduth?
Greyhound is the best pub in the area...and my local, so if you can have a 'rideout' to this area why cant you come play Polo? hrmph sulks

I went on that one ending at the Greyhound!
Everyone in Cov into Fixed seems to be content to ride on their own. -

^ Yeah bunch of loners! I guess I was as guilty as any, was hard to juggle Tri training, work, and riding out - especially as weekends were not really happening for me once I started heading to Manchester.

Never made it to your ones, but had heard about them... I mean't the new(ish) pump track at Allan Higgs off Allard Way.
Greyhound is lovely, especially in summer.
Always thought this'd make a nice pint to pint / point to point ride / race... Greyhound Racing.
Edit - another highlight was mine and Steve's treck across fields to get to a pub in Berkswell. Happy days.

We should do pint to pint and your out when you get to drunk to ride

That trek along the Coventry way to Berkswell was great :D
I like the look of the Greyhound race. Starts (or ends) just around the corner from me. Could combine it with a movie watch. Still got a load of films you guys might be interested in seeing.

I'm up for a meet before the end of the year.
While there's still a few weekends left. -

Steve just wants to cuddle up and watch movies ;)

Only with you mate ;) It's that woolly hat of yours, and the lumberjack shirt you wear...

I return soon and then we shall all be back in business. A ride shall be organised and attendance will be mandatory. Even if it fucking snows.
-
• #17
Ah I understand, not the actual Greyhound pub...
I need to improve my fit ness then i'd be willing to come out for a social but at the moment i'm bike hunting
the Higgs centre is much fun, went there two weeks ago and played polo with my mate int he car park :) -
• #18
Come anyway! I'm probably the most unfit :P
-
• #19
Not cardio or lack of muscle fitness but injury bother fitness,
I bashed my knee at the cycle show last year when I fell off the daft mini boardwalks on a stupidly expensive specialised mountainbike and got fluid on my knee but had to cycle to my hotel..so in short my knee is now completly f*cked. trying to do steady mileage to bring it back up to speed but i'm failing, so hence the fitness thing.. I'd maybe be up for meetin somewhere, but not the riding thing -
• #20
Ahh I see. That sucks :(
-
• #21
Indeed, it both sucks and blows and neither are beneficial to me.
Concrete floor and a raised off road course... how that got through H&S I'll never know. sigh
-
• #22
My knees and ankles are smashed from 15 years if skating

double downer, went to buy a Gen' day one today, got mugged off by a pikey in London -£50 in fuel gone. Upsetting. also polo bikeless still and making do with an old solid steel argos special :(
-
• #24
^ Get around locally to The Peace House, Action 21, Bike Foundry, or Youpunkeroo and find an old bike that fits and do it up.
Your £50 fuel today would've gone along way towards one of those - typical price at Action 21 is £35, there's usually some nice 531 frames knocking about there worth much more than what you'll pay for them, often almost as new / unridden.

Been to peace house and although they have literally hundreds of bikes, nothing took my fance/fitted/required too much work for max budget :(
will check out the other places, in fairness I felt that £50 on fuel to get a good bike was worth it. tw@t
