BRIAN ROURKE ROAD FRAME c1996
Seat Tube (ctt): 20.5in (52cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 20.75in (52.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 42mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Brian Rourke framesets were and some I believe are still produced in their own workshop by Paul Washington - this frame features his very distinctive and special wrap over seat stays. And has hardly been used - the kit that was taken off looked as if it had not done 100 miles... The paint is truly excellent with just a couple of small chips. This frame I think dates from the middle/late 1990s. I was very impressed by Paul Washington’s workshop when I visited about 12 years ago and his frames are really rather special. £169
MKM TRACK FRAME 1970s
Seat Tube (ctt): 20.5in (52cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 20.25in (51.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted tubing
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Wheel size: 700C with brake drop of 50mm
MKM stood for the three original partners in the firm - Arthur METCALFE, Ron KITCHING & Wes MASON and the frames were built in Harrogate during the 1970s and I think early 1980s. This small track frame is very nicely built with tight clearances and some cool features such as the engraved seatstay tops and fork crown. And the paint is in very sound condition. But it has a dent to the down tube which looks as if something has been dropped on it - this will not affect how it rides or its strength. £145
CBT ITALIA ROAD BIKE 1993 ALMOST UNUSED Complete Mavic Group
Seat Tube (ctc): 20in (51cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 209.5in (52cm)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
This is a virtually unused 1993 CBT Italia road bike with a complete Mavic 7spd group. The wheels are really rather special - Mavic sealed bearing hubs on Mavic Open Pro Ceramic rims. The paint is virtually perfect with just one chip to the top tube seen in one of the pictures - this given the wild paint scheme would be very easily touched up. CBT-Italia are a top quality Italian frame builder near the French border - their frames are known for their often outragish paint schemes. £475 I can sell the frame on its own
DAVE YATES CLASSIQUE ROAD BIKE Ultegra 9-spd Reynolds 631 Almost unused
Seat Tube (ctt): 20.5in (52cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 20.5in (52cm)
This road bike was built by Dave Yates was built in 2002 and is in superb condition - it looks as if it has only done a 100 miles or so at the most. The rear rim shows no brake wear, the front minimal brake wear. The frame is built from Reynolds 631 tubing and the bike has a full Shimano 600 Ultegra 9-speed groupset, with ITM finishing parts and rims are Mavic Open Pro. The paint on the frame is virtually perfect. Current frame cost for a new equivalent Dave Yates 631 frame starts at £850 so this complete bike is a bargain at £395. Frame & forks alone £245.
HOBBS BLUE RIBAND ROAD FRAME 1960s/70s
Seat Tube (ctt): 51cm (20in)
Top Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C with brake drop of 58mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Hobbs after they stopped production of their frames continued as a wholesaler for many years - in the 1960s and 70s they had some really nice frames built by Tonard which they decalled as Hobbs Blue Riband and this is one of them. I have had a couple of these over the years and they are really nicely built Reynolds 531 double butted frames. The fork on this one is not original but is of the correct type. It would make a cool fixed or singlespeed conversion. £59
