After a delay of...well... winter... this is finally going ahead.
After some lusting in the food thread, I've pretty much been thinking an awful lot about a trip to the Company Shed in Mersea Island.
A ride is clearly due.

According to GMaps it's about 60/70 miles there from Regents Park so that's probably a little presumptuous to think that we're all going to be comfortable cycling all the way there.
Instead two groups - one cycling and they other training? Perhaps a train to Chelmsford and then cycling the last 25/30 miles. Windy but nice views. Pretty flat, too.
Worth considering that the train to Chelmsford one way is over £20 quid return. Add to that the cost of a feed of fishy treats when we're there.
Examples:
Seafood platter - £8 per head
Lobster - £8.50/lb
They don't do anything apart from seafood, so bring your own bottle/bread/salad/bottle etc.
**What you get: **
Potential for a sea shore themed spoke card/sea shanties.
Hopefully a hot day by the seaside.
Sunburn.
Build up an appetite.
Plug that gap with some awesomely fresh and tasty seafood.
What you hope not to get:
Diarrhetic shellfish poisoning.
