Wanted: MTB Parts! Anything considered.

Posted on
  • I'm building a CHEAP winter beater SINGLESPEED MTB, so any parts you may have spare, cheap or free, please let me know.

All I have is the frame so far so anything you have I'll consider.

Got some risers and bits to swap if needed.

    Thanks all
    D!

Oh and I don't check the forum much so PM me if you have anything.
    Cheers

  • A pair of tyres, old but almost unused. 26inch. Of the sluggish variety. Yours. Pm me if interested.

  • Thanks but Think I'll go with new tyres of the fast variety! ;)

  • Ungrateful bugger. How about some lubberly plastic canti brakes, knackered pads and all.

  • hello D i have an old frame, bars + forks + bb + crank
its an old felt f320 or something all yours for 60 notes ill put a pic up and more info tomorrow if your interested,
basically whole bike apart from wheels + disc brakes think the compression ring from the forks is gone too ill check
    :)

Ha! Sorry dude, but thanks all the same.

  • Pretty sure there's some tires at Chez Dude.

    Will have a look.

  • Ok. My marketing team are off for the week.

More usefully, I have a handlebar, and 2 long cage rear derailleurs, one the usual bolt on, the other a NOS shimano thing with the C shaped bracket. And a front wheel of passable beaterishness.

  • Forgot to say it'll be Singlespeed so no need for geared stuff.

    What bars do you have?

  • These. Clamp size seems odd, I'm getting 25.7mm. They came off an old Raleigh mtb. 58 cm long.

  • Thanks but need 31.8 clamp bars.
    Appreciate the offers tho.

  • I have a few bits and bobs. I have a set of these OS risers. Brand new. Bought them last year for a project but never used them. £10 posted if of interest.

Also I think I have a set of front and rear V-brakes in black. Nothing fancy, off a Mongoose Tyax Comp "Promax linear pull". £5 posted (if I can find them)?

If you want the bars you can have the V-brakes for free :) (would offer the levers but they're integrated shifters/levers so probably no use to you). Pm me if these are of interest.

  • Thanks Jeez, I'll have a look.

  • Hi Steve, let me know if you can find the brakes and I'll grab the bars off ya.

    Thanks

  • Will check in the garage tonight :)

Stem, 110mm length, 10 degree angle. For standard bars (25.4, 26mm). Ti bolts. £10 Nice

Will deliver in London free of charge.

  • Bit too long for me but thanks anyway.

  • Still need quite a few bits.

    Rigid Forks
    Headset
Flat Pedals & Velcro Straps (anyone got any knackered ones?)
    Grips

    All help appreciated.
    Thanks
    D!

  • I've got some P2's with a short-ish steerer, slightly bent I think so you can have them for nothing

  • Cool. Are they still useable even thought bent?

  • yeah they work fine, just a little irritating when you look down at the wheel and can see more rim on one side

i only replaced them because the steerer wasn't long enough for my frame, and even on a beater riding round with only half a headset isn't the best

  • Bunch of Odyssey twisteds at ours, various colours conditions.

Cool. I'll take them please. Let me know where and when etc.

Jay, I will be raiding your pedal aresnal!
