  • No point in rushing these things. So the wife says.

  • we are two blokes

  • Handy tip though, thanks.

  • welk :)

  • Delivery can be very variable, can take 8 days, can take 28 days.

All my orders (6) have been delivered.

    OK, thanks glad to hear

  • Very interesting light. Though it would have been better to place this in the thread titled LIGHTS, where there is good discussion on this topic.
Next time you may find using the Search function to be of some use.

  • Received my order of two of these lights from eBay
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150440339821&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Along with 12x AAA 1100 batteries and charger it came to under £40.

I previously ran a Cateye Single Shot Plus light along with an additional Cateye 'flasher' to be seen; however the output on the new lights is just far superior. The flash option is more like a strobe light, which will certainly get the attention of oncoming vehicles. I used a MARS 4.0 on the rear, which is also very good IMO.

I will get some 'light' pictures when im back in London

I just received one of these; seriously they are beasts. Comparable to my Hope Vision 1 on its second from lowest setting with much whiter light and a sharper and pretty much same size inner

    Personally I recommended the Schmidt Edelux, they work with Shimano hubs (after rewiring), they're plenty powerful but also dipped to prevent other road users from getting blinded;

site boss have that supernova E3 AFAIK, it's very bright and probably the best despite it's hefty price tags, don't know if it'll work with shimano hubs though.

  • Just noticed that the Supernova E3 is actually less than I though (140-160 internet price).

I got my Schmidt from Bikefix for £125.

  • I have the exact same set (Race 2 and redeye), the redeye is alarming bright, but the mounting is severally limited (velcro'ed to the seatpost).

is there any other method to fasten the redeye to the seatpost? cause I lost the velcro to the redeye and don't want to make another one.

ed, did you find another method of attaching your Redeye to the bike?

  • Blackburn Mars 3.0 is a nice retina-burner. Good battery life too.

  • Anyone wth any experiance of the Reelight system. I'm having relibility ssues with my 'proper' lights, and would like a back-up.

The fact that these are hub mounted is a bonus, as they wont be affected by me attaching stuff to my rear rack.

Cheers. Read that, seems like the perfect solution to my needs.

Just need to find a local retailer now.

  • A friend has the 100 version as is happy (they were free) the 120 seems a much better solution.

  • Think I'll invest in the 120. Had to cycle uber slowly, on the footpath, on the commute home last night. Cycling without lights, during the winter, up here, is practically suicide.

  • I have been running the 120 version for over a year and I'm happy with them, no noticable drag from my unscientific test of spinning the front wheel at slow speed to see if the magnets 'grab' as they pass the light.

I do run an extra front light when I know I will need to see rather than just be seen (currently Moon X300).

I call these my perfect pub lights as you are never too drunk to remember to turn them on and you never forget to change or charge the batteries, although on the downside I am getting fed up of people shouting me that I have left my lights on.

  • If that's the only downside they sound like a winner.

  • They seem to be very common in Copenhagen. I wondered what all the small black things on the spokes of the bikes there were. They're very eyecatching despite the low position.

  • Anyone tried the Topeak USB rechargeable lights? http://www.topeak.com/products/Lights/highlite_combo_usb_wtrd

Couldn't find any comments about them on the forum.

Probably a repost, almost certainly belongs in epic fail for the patronising intro. Might have a go at making a light though, gotta be cheaper than a 3-led Knog (frog?).
