GTA - Vice city is easily one of if not the best game I've ever played, such a great game, great music, great story line. Here's to hoping that they do another version of it for the current generation of consoles.

someone upthread mentioned Driver which was a great game on the PS1.

driver on the ps1 was immense, but the last level was obscenely hard, where you had to save the president and every car was after you, that took christlike levels of forgiveness and patience to not throw controller through the screen, and scream and scream and scream at the unfairness of it..

That would have been me who mentioned it!

I remember putting the cheats on and going into free roam mode with the steering wheel controller and spending hours driving around causing havoc.

maybe a list of obscenely hard games.

1) last level Driver (Ps1)
2) Jetset willy (Zx Spectrum) just impossible
3) Space quest 3 - kept getting killed by bounty hunter

completely forgot an awesome game on the Snes.

Yeah, Driver was ace. I played that last level with a cheat though. Couldn't do it otherwise. There is a plastered hole in my wall from a controller being thrown.

Tomb Raider and TR2 were ace on the PlayStation. Better on the PC though.
Final Fantasy 8 was brill too.
The Getaway was what made me buy a PS2. Despite the bugs and the hammy voice acting it still rocked.
Best game ever has to be Half Life 2.
Bioshock was also fantastic.
Portal I liked a lot, but it was too short.

I'll dig out / take some photos of the cocktail machine.
I'm OK at Space Harrier, can't get off the first screen of Donkey Kong.
Not much good at Pac Man.

Ah Tomb raider, now there's a good game.

Remember in TR3 when you could get the guns in her hour and the butler would hold his tea tray up with a target on it?

I think the best storyline for a game has to be Metal Gear solid 1.

Metal Gear: Solid is amazing. Probably my favourite game ever. Another one that defined my early adolescence.

As for Test Drive, I remember playing Test Drive 5 on the PC. That was quite good.

The best part about Driver was the replay function.

Another great thing about MGS, when you beat the game twice, once with each of the two different endings, you get to play through wearing a tux on the third go.

That was awesome, and the boss you had to defeat by putting the controller in a different port.

When you complete Fallout 3 twice you grow a survivalist beard and all buildings look ruined BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT IT'LL DO TO YOU.

Played 4 to death, I really want a ps3 port.

Resident Evil 4 on the PS2 Gamecube was brilliant.

Played it on the Wii, lost something because of the pointer, made aiming TOO easy.

RE4 sucked. RE2 was amazing.
