Well, don't cross the water hoping for better. Or at least, if you do, keep going a distance. IME business cnutary over the past couple of years has plumbed depths I didn't think possible in the UK. On the other hand, I got a nice paid of fur-lined waterproof overboots today that cost me 40 quid, so I'm hoping for dire weather for testing and cash well spent satisfaction.
