Gijs sold these frames in the beginning of the carbon era, 1990-1995.
Friend of mine has had a couple of these C4.
Not 100% satisfied, but he had a good relationship with Gijs, so it worked out quite well.
But adjustment of 8spd STI. It was a nightmare if you had no clue, no tools and no spare parts.
Al least, try to run teflon liners front to rear in case you're going to use brifters.correction DC: your 1st remark 'nice Gijs van Tuyl without stickers' was off the mark. to be 100% clear about this: Gijs van Tuyl never made anything, Marco Bonfanti is the man behind these frames.
cheers

Currently only 330 quid. Suspect that might go up a tad before closing later tonight.

Bargain!

Did you get it?
-
• #29089
No. I've already got too many bikes. The saddle is worth half the end price.

correction DC ...Gijs van Tuyl never made anything...
Totally aware of that. The only things GvT ever made are bankrupcies.
Just scaring you a bit. Did you actually buy it? -
• #29091
yep :)

Good deal?
Guess so. Good nick, 10 spd, you'd pay more here probably even with shipping. Punt on genuine etc though.
Silly sizing though. I'm normal and those things just don't fit me. Short seat tube, long top, time saddle's right, it's way long.

Yes, that is a bit of a bastard missing that. Sensible frame geo too. Ho hum.

Good deal?
I had one in a virtually identical colour scheme. Beautiful bike to ride, stable and solid but razor sharp handling.
I sold the frame and forks about 18 months ago for £700 so I'd say that price is pretty reasonable given it's Record throughout.
The one thing I'd question is the sizing, as it's non-standard so was either custom made or is an ex-pro team frame. If the latter then it might have been heavily abused.

Thanks for the advice about the sizing guys. Guess I'll stay on the look out.

bugger, a few more holes and this would have been surweet - passing the love on…

riders in the USA seem to prefer their top tubes longer than seat tubes, over here it's mostly the other way around

Looking at the stem on that bugger, combined with the geo, it's built for a below-the-knee amputee giraffe.
Hope BB 109mm would love it, but will be working tomorrow night hence can't watch the auction
