• For summer... just get the light Swrve shorts and some bamboo T-shirts. If you're going to buy a cycling shirt specifically, go for a very light coloued one from Assos, you want the best wicking stuff you can... but seriously... bamboo shirts from supplier are like £7 each and are perfect in hot weather.

I'd be tempted to put Time Atacs on the bike and stick with MTB shoes. They'd help you walk on beaches and stuff like that.

Heat and climate... in the summer a dry heat, can peak around the early 40's celcius. If you can get a swim in early in the day you'll feel it a little less.

In the summer, skip riding in the peak of the day. You will lose a lot of water and it will drain you. Late evening is riding time. If you do want to go out for a whole day, I'd probably start early and split the day in two with a long lunch/rest to pass the peak heat.

This is just from being there just over a month Nov > Dec a while ago and saying what I would do nowadays... but then I feel the heat quite badly. I'm sure you'll find others who can advise on year round stuff.
