Swivel base is essential in garages / sheds with limited space.

You should find usable one for under ten euros at shops selling Chinese shite.
Or wait for a Lidl campaign.Cheap shite ones are OK. It's a brute force tool. Save money for tools where finesse counts.

Very important lesson for you:
Most cheap home workshop vices from places like lidl or discount hardware shop selling mainly chinese stuff have serrated/cross-hatched surface on the jaws.
This will mangle your tools.
When selecting a vice for bike use, you want nice large flat jaws that will grip to a freewheel tool well without fucking it up.

its not the end of the world if it they do have serrated jaws
2 strips of steel bent at 90 degrees, instead of buying strips and bending you could just get some angle iron, will give you a flat jaw
a bit of double sided tape will stop it sliding about while the vice isnt under load
then you have the best of both worldsheres a portable vice, you can fit to any worktop, bench, table etc
Irwin Record TV75B Portable Table Vice 3" / 75mm £20.80

Record every time, I managed to snap two cheaper vices in the space of about 6 month during a bit of garage 'bodging' when building a kit car.
I've abused my 6" record vice: battered it with a massive hammer, hung on it with a 1m extension to press suspension bushings and it just soaks it all up!
Got mine from ebay for about£40
Alright it's time, I need a bench vice but boy are they dear! Theres a few 3" or 4" ones on the bay for less than £30 new delivered. Any good?
Needed for seized bb removal, seatpost removal, etc, etc.
