Theft of Pedal Cycles - DON’T LEAVE YOUR BIKE UNLOCKED! 18 Nov 15:16
Bicycles are a very easy target for thieves as they can be discarded or sold as quickly as they can be obtained.
More than half of all bicycle thefts take place from an owner’s property. Here are some simple ways to avoid becoming a victim of crime:
Keep your bike in a secure garage or shed and keep the door locked.
Keep your bike out of public view.
If you do need to store your bike outside then secure it to an immovable object.
PLEASE NOTE
There have also been a number of sheds/garages being broken into on Clapham Common Ward.
Please be aware that if you own a shed you have it securely locked at all times, no matter where it is located! There have been reports of break ins to sheds located in rear gardens … just because it’s not in public view doesn’t mean it can’t be a target.
