Bit random!!! I'm trying to strip the old paint off my Raleigh Pursuit frame and have had enough of doing it with sandpaper barehanded and emry paper, so was wondering if anyone had a orbital sanding machine which has got a wire bristle disc attatched to it, u know like an angle grinder but with bristle attachment instead of grinding disc??? i would seriously appreciate if someone could let me borrow it during this week before friday, get back to me?? thanks all

Cheers foir the link the other day too, already seen. Think im gonna have a custom Job made up by Donny some time nbext year.... Remember: Steel is Real

• #410
Thinking a Dolan maybe, early days yet though, for the time being I just want to get the drops back on my bike.
-
• #411
Get a Donnie. Steel is, as PuP put it so well, real. Shop local.

I'd love a custom but don't always have the monies for custom, plus what benefits would I gain from having a custom?
-
• #413
It fits nicely. You choose the colour. It's fun.
-
• #414
I think custom is an extravagance that I can't justify, but the internet keeps doing things like this: http://www.cycleexif.com/deflux-pursuit
It's porn and if I'm the only one that likes it then I'm happy to like weird porn. Shame I'm probably too short to get away with triple triangles.

I bought those Vision bars and the matching stem, but I really couldnt get on with the shape in the flesh! sent 'em back! Also I want a triple triangle frame badly. Other than GT is there any other frame builder that has made many?
-
• #416
I wouldn't have those bars either, I like to ride the flats too much. They look good in pictures though. No idea on frames, all the triple tris I admire are custom jobs.

Anyone know of any good bike painters locally? Thinking of giving the Fuji a different look next year - matt black - with a bit of gloss detailing maybe.
-
• #418
Colr that's bike is nice I like them forks too. My problem is that I don't think I could justify a custom frame right now. I'd quite like an Alu frame with carbon forks a nice light machine that I can whip out on the weekend on but also use for commuting.

I had it powdercoated. Cheap and cheerful, not the best finish. Great if you want to protect a working bike and get a snazzy colour. If you want fancy then you'll have to hunt around, sorry.
Spence, a custom frame is a treat that you deserve. You work hard, don't you? Sure you do. You've earned it. Go on, you've got my permission. Put down a deposit.

How much would I pay for one of these hand crafted machines?
-
• #422
I'm still thinking a nice cheap Tifosi Pista CX frame, get it painted, then spend a bit more on other parts. I've no idea how to actually build a bike but that's where you lot come in.
-
• #423
Sounds like a great plan mate. I was thinking about buying a fuji track putting some carbon forks on it and spending a bit of dosh on upgrades. Hmmm we shall see.

Oh and this Saturday does any one fancy a ride during the day time? My cars going in for mot in the morning but anytime after lunch I'm free.

Get a Dolan precursa, sounds pretty much like what your after, I really like mine, you can pick them up pretty cheap. I got my frame for 160 with dura ace headset off here.
rusty black ftw
