Ways not to lock your bike

I saw one of these

Locked up with a lime green pound shop combination cable lock (about the thickness of my little finger) outside Barkers Arcade on Kensington High Street on saturday, I was actually too shocked to take a photo. seriously, wtf?!

How many of us think its ok to steal a bike in this situation?

What about leaving a note and borrowing it for a few weeks?
