if you are using AE especially in HD comp settings get 8GB. trust me you will appreciate the extra 4. as stated above only 2 slots so you have to get 2x4gb sticks. I have to do the same I just can't justify the cost atm.

similarly sized psds and also after effects.
i could get away with four for sure but greed always gets the better of me.
that said, your point on the number of slots has foiled my plans entirely :)
