Hey man, any chance of repairing the lens damage or is it permanent? also the quality doesn't look too high in the stills, is it better as video?
£300 seems a bit steep nowadays -

£300 seems a bit steep nowadaysYeah the reason for the still quality is that its raw DV footage which i screengrabbed from VLC - so it isnt de interlaced etc, It honestly hasnt been a problem for me as the marks really arent visible unless pointed directly at the sun, Just slap ND filter on and raise the exposure and they arent so obvious anyway.
yeah actually ive just had a browse on SP and they are going for a bit less than when i nabbed mine, 220 seem fair? I really need to shift this.
The damage cant be repaired unless you buy a new front element, which you can order from century for about 150 quid. They arent hard to fit yourself, its just considering as i have a mint one I just cant be bothered to order it etc
If you need any help organising getting a new one etc, I'd be perfectly happy to give you a hand. Im in contact with them as that was my original plan before I just bought a new one.

Pretty sure a new element is a lot more than that, definitely over £100.

yeah my bad, the fitting cost is $90, hence the error.
So thats my bad!
Just checked the email they sent me and a new front element is about 155 GBP excl shipping.

Is the mk1 still up for sale? If so i'm very interested. Email me : jacob.jones.29@gmail.com
I know this isnt bike related but i thought that considering there are a few skaters on here, and I presume people who film fixed/tricks etc so it might get a good home.
Got this about a year ago, and its seen a fair bit of use, the front element has a scratch and the coating has a few superficial marks but it is being sold in pretty much the same condition that I got it.
There is a chip on the metal body of the lens but this does not affect the image in any way.
The reason for the sale is that ive managed to grab a new one, and dont see the point in having two floating about.
offer away.
The lens is not being sold with the Bayo attachment for a vx2000/2100 camera, it will be sold with the original mount to fit a VX1000.
Some pics of the lens, all are screengrabs of footage from the last week:
what it looks like in normal light^
