I absolutely love this but I can't help wishing it had either a pair of Zipps or a pair of Shamals... Even a matched pair of either polished Alu or Carbon rims... Twin Zipps would be the business though!
when he posted it in current projects he made sure to mention that the zipp wasnt permanent.

Front brake block on the Simoncini is askew.

A-ha! Well in that case all the more win! Reckon a pair of Zipps would be significantly more winsome than Shamals though...

Have a good butcher at this;
It's a Richard fucking Sachs, didn't think he'd build a classic lightweight;
awful.
whoever built up that vintage sachs (not sachs himself, duh) is clearly an idiot. -

Fuck no

what offends you so much about it?
Too much mixing of periods/styles, 1 clip and two brazed guides for the rear brake cable, wank mudguards, brakes wired the 'merkin way instead of properly

it's a handsome race road race frame with decidedly anti-race velo-orange components.

Too much mixing of periods/styles
now that i look at it it does look a bit of a mish mash
wank mudguards
they remind of of that stupidly expensive paul smith saddle

brakes wired the 'merkin way instead of properly

The Oersted pic is interesting as it has the Ritter branding, presumably Ole Ritter had the official national team sponsorship deal and they had to put his name on the bike for competition as a national team member, as pictures of Oersted on the Laser usually show him in his pro team kit with Cinelli decals on the frame.
From the same stream, the origin of hipster cut down bars?

One of the unintended consequences of drug misuse in the Soviet bloc sporting scene was that their Kilo riders could pull hard enough on the bars to snap them at the start.
