• Hi everyone,
I’ve just sorted out another lot of interesting frames. Shipping on frames within the UK will be £11 - other items can ship free of charge in the same box. I can ship anywhere in the world at a reasonable cost.

    ALL ITEMS ARE IN BRISTOL

Unless specifically described I do not guarantee headsets or BBs which are fitted to frames. With all frames I can fit headsets or BBs - headset fitting costs £12; please see my latest headset thread:

for details of what is available.

Payment can be via bank transfer (preferred), cheque or the dreaded Paypal which costs me 3%…

** If you dib an item, please PM me and pay the same day unless you make other arrangements with me. Otherwise it may well be sold to the next person who wants it...**

Viewing/Personal collection is welcome as quite a few have found and have been able to get other parts they are looking for at the same time.

    CHAS ROBERTS TT FRAME c1978
    Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
    Frame tubing: Reynolds
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
1970s TT frames often had the geometry of a track frame - steep angles, short wheelbase and tight clearances - this frame built by Chas Roberts is no exception. This frame is in very good condition with just a little paint bubbling around the seat lug and some minor rust around the top tube cable guides. The vertical rear dropouts are drilled as is the bottom bracket... Its fitted with what feels like a very good Edco headset. The frame and forks feels lighter than standard 531 - I would guess its built from Reynolds 531SL . A rather rare and cool frame. £195

    BASSO? ROAD FRAME
    Seat Tube (ctt): 61cm (24in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in)
    Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
    Frame tubing: Columbus SLX
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is a really nice road frame from the late 1980s - it has Basso decals though I am not 100% certain it is a Basso. Whatever it is a well made road frame in very good condition - the paint has only a few small marks. It would make a cool fixed or singlespeed conversion. £125

    THORN AUDAX FRAME
    Seat Tube (ctt): 50cm (19.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 51.5cm (20.25in)
    Rear dropout width: 135mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 56mm)
    Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Thorn make exceptionally nice touring frames - this one of their earlier Audax models is in in exceptionally good condition. It comes complete with an excellent Stronglight A9 headset. It has braze-ons for a rear rack and with 700C wheels will take the deep drop Shimano dual-pivot brakes - this makes it ideal for all sorts of light touring.... £195

BATES VOLANTE ROAD FRAME 1990s by Ron Cooper Stunning lugwork
    Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C with 55mm brake drop
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 Cantiflex butted tubing
This is a stunning Bates Volante road bike built by Ron Cooper with Bates patented Cantifllex tubing – this is a larger diameter in the centre of each of the three main tubes and builds a really responsive stiff frame together with the registered design Diadrant forks. The lugs are truly stunning – I think they were almost certainly cut by Len Phipps who cuts fancy lugs for many builders such as Hetchins too. This one very special frame that was built in very small quantities in the 1990s... £495

    REG BARNETT ROAD FRAME c1980
    Seat Tube (ctt): 56.5cm (22.25in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
    Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 51mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
I do not know for certain who built this Reg Barnett frame but it has a lot of similarities with quite a few Geoffrey Butler frames some of which I understand were built by Cliff Shrubb. This frame is really very nice - the fork blade stiffeners used on the outside of the blades with card suit symbols is really very distinctive. The paint is in quite sound condition and would be quite useable after careful cleaning and touching up. It would make a cool fixed or singlespeed conversion. £125

    HOLDSWORTH MISTRAL FRAME c1969
    Seat Tube (ctt): 55cm (21.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 54cm (21in)
    Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C with brake drop of 68mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is a very sound Holdsworth Mistral road frame from the late 60s - the paint in reality needs redoing but is certainly worth it on a frame of this quality. The gear hanger has been cut off the rear dropout - this could very easily be restored when painting the frame or even with just localised touch-up. It will make a very easy fixed or singlespeed conversion. £89

GEORGE BROOKS ROAD FRAME c1955 by Ephgrave
    Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 62mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
At present this frame carries a decal from Roberts Rebuilds which was a Crouch End cycle shop in the 1970s and 80s. But it is a George Brooks frame built by Les Ephgrave. George Brooks had a cycle shop in Haringey, north London. See http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/builders/george-brooks.html for more information. His frames were built by several different framebuilders including Les Ephgrave. This frame is identical to a two Les Ephgrave built Rory O’Brien frames I have had. Les used to build frames for a select number of shops - and I think that this was a standard design he used for the these shop labeled frames. But they were built to the same quality as his own frames with gorgeously clean filed lugs with clear shorelines. It would make a very good fixed or singlespeed conversion. £145

    ANDRE BERTIN ROAD FRAME 1970s
    Seat Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 54cm (21.25in)
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 52mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
    Seatpost size: 26.6mm
This is a really rather lovely Bertin road frame from the 1970s; it has I think been repainted fairly recently in one of their Team colour schemes. The paint is generally excellent with just a few small marks. It comes complete with an excellent Stronglight roller bearing headset. £179

KOGA MIYATA PROFESSIONAL ROAD FRAME 1976 ** NEW AND UNUSED**
    Seat Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
    Wheel size: Sprints/700C
Frame tubing: Chrome moly 4140 tubing
This is a very early Koga Miyata Professional road frame which can be dated by its frame number to 1976. It was originally built up with Shimano Dura-Ace groupset but has never been used. It has a number of small shopwear marks none of which are particularly obvious. I have an almost complete Shimano Dura-Ace groupset of the correct period with some NOS components which could be used to build this frame up. It is not suitable for fixed or singlespeed conversion unless a magic gear is found. reduced to £185
