What size does he need, or how tall is he?
Also, check the ebay thread on here.

these are vintage steel but quite decent if I do say so myself, well under your mate's budget and will last for well over another 40-50 years if they're well taken care of like they have been for the same period in the past...

Can't a ribble audax be built up for less than £300?
Last time I looked frame was £130 including carbon fork. Add a tiagra g/s and the cheaper wheelsets, I'm sure it could be done. It's a long way to ride on some old steel thing

Sorry yeah, he is about 6'1 so prob need something around 58-60 i guess, 60 might be a little on the big side. But i'm sure he'd cope. Beggars cant be choosers eh?!
That Giant is really nice! I'm tempted myself!

ah! JOG = John O'Groats
indeed a long way on an old steel thing

if you can't do it on an old steel thing then that makes you a worse person than anyone in the past that had no choice!
Do it for your grandaddies I say! Plus, you'd be the coolest looking person in the team.

right you are, the coolest looks, together with focus in the head, air in the tyres and power & rythm in the legs will get you there for sure :)

UPDATE. He's 6'2, or so he tells me. I'm 6'5 so to me there is 6'5 or 'short'

I know this may not be what he's looking for, but I'm contemplating selling it.

TT 58cm CTC
ST 62cm CTC
HT 21cmJust got back from London to Paris (and back) and was faultless. It gave a comfortable ride and offered a relaxed position for me being 5' 11"

overall body length is not something you'd want to base your choice of size bike on if you're going to be spending at least 874 miles on it

Cheers, cipolinni, got it. I'll keep you posted.
Sup FGSSers.
My friend is looking for a geared bike to do Lands End to JOG. He is pretty new for cycling but wants to have something to train on and obviously to ride the event on.
Also he is a student and the budget is £250 with a little wiggle space.
Can anyone help.. Just something half decent to last him a year. £250-300 quid wont get you anywhere on the new bikes market, they are all a bag of spanners.
Cheers!
