Speed is nasty. Absolutely not worth the bother. I've lost a couple of friends to amphetamines and it happened very quickly. Both girls, pretty, with degrees, good media jobs. Now one's a bum living in London (run away from home convinced that people are after her), toothless, red faced, unrecognisable. The other is recovering junkie with HIV, working for a charity - she was taking speed intravenous (or whatever you spell it), sucking guys off it the toilets for a score. It took less than a year of regular use for both.
Many people I know who work for radio stations on graveyard shifts also do speed.
Like every drug it's only nice at the beginning and in moderation. After it's only a chore, expensive habit to keep depression at bay...
