I used to lust after a cannondale with a head shock, but when I actually rode one didn't like the feel of the fork, didn't feel progressive at all. Might have just been a bad example like.
nevermind that though, love the fat tubes and welds, and that looks barely ridden?!
Get old school grey xtr, mavic crossmax and coda cranks...

Crappy phone pic but Fort now has a Dura-Ace headset fitted... Final build will be...
Shimano Dura-Ace headset, BB and crankset. Velocity B43 x Gran Compe front, Deep V x Gran Compe rear, silver rims, green hubs. LOOK Ergo-Stem. Nitto B123AA bars, Jaguar seatpost. Fizik Microtec soft touch tape, black. Chopped and mangled Brooks B17, green.
sweet! have you got all the parts already? i've been waiting to see this for a while as a fellow member of the fort track frame club. i can't wait to see what the fork looks like when it's all built up.

Custom sizing or is "Mahoosive Headtube" now in their stock frame range?

Nope, managed to fit on a 64cm due to touring geo and extra height from mudguard clearance.

Have the wheels, frame, saddle and headset sorted. Stem is on the way, due a bonus in the next week or so though so I'll hopefully be able to just splash out and get the rest in a hurry! Can't wait to ride it! Are you on the yellow one I've seen around town?
-
• #36759
no, i'm on a black one with carbon forks. i see that yellow one a lot too.
here's how mine was a while ago, although almost everything is changed now, i went through a major de hipsterisation

Nice one, I quite like their new paintjob after seeing it in Earl's Court.

trike time,
I'm turning this trailer into a trike and I need to fit some brakes to the wheels.

Does anyone know of some single pivot brakes that would have a big enough clearance to fit around the tires? I know other brakes would be stronger but single (or dual) pivots would be by far the easiest to attach due to having just the one mounting point.

Coming soon to the Rollamonsta. Need to make an adaptor to fit this to a 130mm PCD crank. Gear goes up to about 190" or 60mph at 105rpm, with scope to go over 200" later if I get an 8T driver on the hub to replace the current 56/9 set up. When I first got my rollers and could barely hit 40mph in a sprint, I had no idea that I would eventually find a gear that gives 50mph/100rpm a bit spinny :-)

If you were only hitting 40mph with normal gears then you need to pedal faster ;)
-
• #36767
Why? I don't race at 180rpm (which as as fast as I've ever pedalled on 100" gearing), I race at about 90rpm. At the moment, I'm hitting 118rpm average on 56/9 gearing for my 5 x 30s interval session, which is already some 30% higher cadence than I race at, hence the desire to raise the gearing further to get the training rpm closer to the racing rpm. If I want to spin against no resistance, I can always put my track bike on the rollers, geared for Calshot at 49/16

@ mdcc_tester's TA crank.
But you hasn't even bid on that yet, why are you so sure that you'll get it?

What? I have the chainring on my desk right now, and I know how I'm going to bodge it onto a 130mm PCD crank. What do I need to bid on? Oh, and if I really wanted some Cyclotouriste cranks, I'd nick them out of my dad's shed, not buy them.

Why?
Read back, you said "in a sprint". Also see: ;)

Coming close to completing my latest build, but i'm not sure what bars to get. I have track drops on my other bike but i quite like the look of pursuit bars at the moment... any ideas? :)

Pursuit bars are going to look weird atop those yards of head tube. If you just want something different, inverted North Road bars might look OK

My Lynskey is starting to take shape. Seat and bar stems are temporary until the correct 3T ones arrive...
