  • By bolt you mean the outer part, right? Will that still allow the inner part to thread in OK?

    Hold on - you say pop an allen key in, so you mean the inner part? That won't make it do up further will it?

  • Sorry missed out a step. I'll start again:

    ***Screw the hex bolt into the slotted nutfrom behind so the inside of the hex bolt sits flush with the slooted end of the bolt ***
    Fix file into the vice nice and level and securely.
    Put allen key into the hex nut.
    Place the inside of the bolt onto the file then file away at it till it is shallow enough. Should take too long.
    When I have done this I have marked where I wanted to file to.

  • Think I might do this. They all do up really-nearly-tight, so a mm or so should do the trick...
