Maybe the trendsters will take a leaf out of the same book the Mods referred to when they decided the coolness of their scooters would increase exponentially with every new wing mirror they attached to them and we'll find ourselves marvelling at the hipsters of tomorrow as they cycle past on creations for which the efficient transport of its rider from A - B is just one of a multitude of functions it performs. The hipster bike of the future will more than likely be made of an as yet undeveloped composite of newspaper and used carrier bags that is thrown away at the end of each journey or end of the week/month (bio-degradeable natch) depending on how much of a hipster you are. The hippest ones will have taught themselves the art of cycle-folding/weaving and will make ever more quickly and conveniently assembled forms of super efficient transport on a daily basis until they can throw one together in a couple of minutes and whenever necessary adapt it to differing terrain. Yes I think that's the way it'll go, hanging on to a cherished bike or a collection of bikes will become a thing of the past as the era of the daily disposable (bio-deg) workhorse materialises and provides new solutions to man &womans changing view of those qualities considered desirable, relevant and worthy of a bicycle for the owners of fresh thinking minds in a more modern era ;)

In 2011 retro bikes will be considered old-looking.
