you might want to think it through a bit more.If you dont put two stiles at new meeting edge you will have an ugly gap where the top and bottom rails are touching and the panels will not.(sorry,impossible for me to explain more clearly)If door is a flush blank disregard this.(or disregard it anyway!)

Not quite sure what you mean. We have a normal door that won't work properly due to washing machine obstructing its swing path. Chopping it in two vertically and hinging it should allow it to move around the washing machine.
