Did you raise the seatpost enough? I just rode a 50cm 1976 Bianchi at l'eroica and with the seatpost up a little it was fine.

I'm more a 52-54 so its way too small but loads of fun though!

I normally ride a 52/53cm and sometimes small bikes are fun. One of my track bikes is a 47cm and runs a 700c rear and 650c front wheel it is really good round town and its not a lo-pro.
