TNRC 2nd Annual Awards Ceremony 9th Nov 2010 @ Charlie Wright's
http://www.charliewrights.comAfter a long and rewarding season, what better way to celebrate than with a get-together at a great location for booze, food and some live music.
This will be a ruffle shirt evening for the men, girls come as you like. All wags are invited and encouraged to come along and enjoy the fact that their chosen love is involved in one of the greatest clubs ever. Make no mistake: the TNRC is a wonderful thing and it only exists because you come out and ride the lanes in all weathers. Now is the time to share a beer together.
The pub is laid-back and unpretentious. Jonny and I have been going for years. If you want a cheap Thai meal, the restaurant is there (recommended) or sit back and talk shit in the pub bit. Minimum one ride entry requirement.
There will of course be prizes for these three categories:
- Best rider 2010
- Best climber 2010
- Most improved rider 2010
Just cut and paste that with your nominations and PM it to me (clintsmoker). One vote each. No self-promotion. You can vote even if you only rode once.
if you want to suggest some more categories, then do so on here. (Polky?)List

Thanks for the invite but can't make it due to other commitments - drinking beer and soaking up rays on some distant sunkissed shore.
Have a great evening and here's looking forward to next year.

Is the restaurant bit very separate from the pub bit? I've only ever been there in an altered state, many moons ago, and can't remember.
i.e. if I was thinking of having a meal with MrsFix, would we be better off booking a table, stuffing our faces, and then sauntering/shimmying/sashaying our way over to the peloton afterwards?

me and jonny did a recce tonight. thursday is busier than tuesdays (we hope) when the music is playing it might be prohibitive. the manager told us it wouldn't really kick off until 9pm and tuesday should be low key. the restaurant / pub divide is very easy going. the restaurant is easy going.
That is no excuse. Sky+, Channel4 OD, etc.
