sorry for the message length, thanks
Some frames like this, with all the aero webbing and whatnot.
Are just a regular steel frame underneath, with fiberglass or similar glued on to make the aero shapes. If yours is like this, the crack might just be on the superficial facade.

my current beater build. made from all donor/free parts. very light and stiff.
(waiting for a 17t freewheel...hence slack chain)
Looks like a trials bike, bet you can do some epic stoppies.

finally had some time to work on this bike. was supposed to be a beater project but got carried away with parts. Still not sure about the s3x and will probably go with a single fixed set up. thanks to everyone that helped out. Got a stuck pedal and one BB cup I got to get out and sort out the wheel. Might go with the VO PBP wheels although they say they only go up to 32mm tyre. Would love to get some grand bois hetre red tyres for it but I think they only come in 650B sizes.

Moustache bars?
I've got an On-One moustache + a pair of those 'inverted levers' from DiaCompe, which can go, since I probably won't get around using them anyway.
You know this ofc: http://velospace.org/node/4729 -

You know this ofc: http://velospace.org/node/4729This bike looks very nice on the pictures, but the bike looks terrible when sitting on the saddle. Also, the riding position is only okay for racers. Not for women who ride such a bike occasionally.

lovely project!
the PBPs do go up to 32s, but, 32s are such a pain in the neck to fit on them!finally had some time to work on this bike. was supposed to be a beater project but got carried away with parts. @ nblakeman I saw you on your bike the other day in kingston! Thought : what a lovely bike but does he know hes got a massive hole in his jeans..

RS-430, black, just like mine.
Actually, apart from hi-flanged hubs and Hoshi spokes*, that's a very similar wheelset to mine.
(I've got the DA hb7710 with Phil Wood spokes) -

I've had 3 builds on the go recently. All done now.
The Hipstermobile: Cinelli Vigorelli
BlueQuinnTwo: Harry Quinn 'Sprinter'. Still needs a front brake - either nut fitting, or I need my drill back.
Sid Mottram mixte single speed for Bobbinbird.

Yes it does. As does the Quinn. Slack chains are the new thing.

(I've got the DA hb7710 with Phil Wood spokes)Nuknow is correct! His wheelset was what made me hunt for the RS-430's!! Also, the builder
may use DT double butted spokes as the hoshi's may be too long.
