Yes, I have one on my 3-speed Pashley and used one on my Carlton singlespeed (both 46t). Excellent for the money, quite a nice polished finish on the crank arms. After about 1300 miles use on the Carlton there was very little wear.
OK, they're only 1-piece and hardly Campy-nice but for £22 or so, they're cheap to replace.
That eBay ad suggests a 118mm BB but to get a decent chainline I had to use 107mm ones.
Am sure someone will come along in a minute and say that they're rubbish and you should only bother buying a crankset for £100+.......

Can't go wrong for £22. A good weight as well no doubt down to the lack of separate chainring and chainring bolts. They look pretty good in a clean looking way.

yeah you should get cranks for at least £200 quid....
no, I had a set of those exact ones from the same seller, they were fine until i tried to remove them with a rubber mallet...
looked pretty good, but sound advice on the bb length, i took stupid advice from seller and then found chainline a little way off.

I have a similar Stronglight set, but with a 48t ring on my Carlton and I think they are great for the price. I also used a 107mm bottom bracket for perfect chainline
Apologies for the crappy photo

Looks bendy...

it's fine for a simple runabout really, but that it.

I had ones like ummars on a bike, they were great. Nice big 52t set aswell!

They are bendy, but I suppose the smaller the chainring the sturdier it might be.
The original one on my Brompton (50T) started to bend after a year or so.

Should be fine, just don't be running them fixed!

If it helps, they are the same as used on bromptons

Can someone advise me of the q-factor for this crankset please, or where I could find out? Thanks.
-
• #14
Q-factor of the crankset...without considering the width of bottom bracket between it....really???
Earth to Mdcc_tester, come in please.

Sorry, obviously I assumed too much common sense for you... Clearly you need something to do with your time.
For any other idiots, the q-factor, the crank axle length and the torque used to tighten crank bolts. Rounded up to the nearest tenth decimal place please. Oh and remember to mention if the surface has been polished or not and the ambient temperature at time of measurement...

GA2G works nights, and sometimes gets a bit out of whack. I'm sure he realises that when people ask for a Q-factor quote, they're asking for it in the context of the crankset being used with the recommended axle length (so for fixed, we'd assume the one recommended for a 42mm chainline).
Come back, sirpecangum. Give us another try. [/Stronglight track crank user, but don't know the Q offhand… just done rough and ready measurement, and it's 142mm]

What happened here then?

I agree with this, but after checking the business cycles reference page, and not finding it. I could'nt be bothered to dig deeper. Sorry.

Dont agree with this. If he/she found GA2G's reply upsetting. Then I cant see them lasting anyway ;)

Maybe sirpecangum works nights too. Let's give everyone the benefit of the doubt [/new, caring BMMF]

i have these on my bike and today on the way back from work the chainring got unstuck from the cranks. the cranks/pedals spin but the ring does not!
did anyone have the same problem? :( -

I always thought the Q factor of a set of cranks was about how many 007-style gadgets you could hide in them.
