What the cunting bollocks is that?

Megatron's bike

I think it's pretty cool, dunno why, don't like it with those wheels though.

A completely valid point, but that was still a work in progress at the time (in the current projects thread).
Show us the current state of the project then .

That poor GT frame.
They're Girvin Vector forks btw. Not that good as they had an elastomer shock but can be upgraded.

That's fooking nuts. Good ol' LTS. Light as paper; strong as paper

This can f**k off:
Frame is an STS Downhill, forks aren't Girvins (which had an integrated stem). The name of these escapes me - perhaps Scott can remind me what they are called - I seem to remember that they were made in the UK if that helps.
Cranks look a bit like Middleburns? Brakes are Maguras. I'm not sure about the wheels.
While hardly an aesthetically perfect bike, it's better than another shitty conversion with a 650c and a 700c where two 27" wheels should be. I wouldn't have hesitated to stab someone for that bike in... 1996 I guess. If it's earlier than that it's technically not an STS, it's actually got a different name (despite being the same bike).

I am feeling slightly less certain about my Girvin assertion, having just seem some Vector 2/3s.

its a look fournales

That's not what I was thinking of. I was thinking of a Quasar (it's just come to me). Clearly though, you are right and I am wrong.

Air sprung and air damped. Fournales persist with this, for bikes and motorbikes, in the face of everybody else in the world who have concluded that coil over oil is the way to go for racing.

Ah, Girvin Experts didn't have an integrated stem. But they're not them. Not a bad design, not 'pretty' though.
-
• #13493
Vectors don't have integrated stems either, I own a ProFlex fitted with them. The ones with an integrated stem are Vector 2's. The wheels on the GT are Gipiemmes.
Edit: actually I'm not too sure about what I said bout the Vectors.. But not all of them have an integrated stem, that's for sure.

I actually really like that, would look shit on a bike though. cleverly mounted on a wall for decoration maybe.
is it the latest rapha/paul smith collaboration?

Saw some of them on a very porn worthy Ti weightweenie MTB. I'll check during lunch, as the post I saw the bike in had a fair amount of info in it.

^ mega repost.
BUT, this gets me from the listing:
'The old school racing geometry is tame by today's standards so its very comfortable to ride. Almost like a Lazy-boy chair with Aerospoke wheels.'
