I've just joined the boards after being a long time reader. I think that I'm going to go with a Plug Freestyler, but am split on whether a small or medium is most fitting for me. My height is 5'10"-11" and my inseam about 30". Any thoughts?
I'm 5,11 and have the medium....although it fits me fine and I use it as my trick bike, in retrospect I should have got the small. All my other bikes are sized the same as the small plug and the all feel slightly more maneuverable....
Still best to try for yourself in the shop though

Thanks for your replies. It probably gets annoying having the "which size?" question rephrased. Just afraid of getting a size too large, as the old Fuji second-hand bike frame I have has no standover. Don't want to hang my groin! I live in Chicago and haven't found the Plug in a local shop. I don't think they're all that ubiquitous here. Langsters, however..

Rascale, do you have any standover room? I keep hearing that these bikes are supposed to be a little large; I think that goes for the top tube though. As long as I have a little standover, I don't mind if the top tube seems long. I'll just swap the stem for a shorter one.

I have some standover room...not loads. Definitely feels better if I use it with a BMX stem rather than the stock one.
As a comparison, my day to day ride is a Fort track 7500 which is Seat-tube 53cm centre-to-centre and 56cm centre-to-top, top-tube is 54cm centre-to-centre. Has a 1" head tube and takes a 27.2mm seat post.
This fits me pretty much spot on.
The Charge medium is sized on the website as top tube 54.5 and seat tube 59....
I think its the seat tube that makes the big difference for me.

Thanks, Rascale. It sounds like we're about the same height, since I'd bet your Fort Track would be a good fit. Now I'm afraid a medium Plug may be a tad large. Did you test ride a small, by any chance?

I didn't as there weren't any smalls available at the time.....curse my impatience!!!

hi there,
i'am about to get my first fixie ! but as a french (no one is perfect...) i can't try the charge plug by myself (i didn't find any store that sell it where i live :/)
my question may sounds stupid but, i'm 5"11 (181cm) and my inside leg measurement is 86 cm.
should i get the M or L charge plug ? wiggle told me to get a M and Neil from charge which use a M told that if i prefer a "stretched out position" to get a L ("You're in between sizes there")thanks for your advise ! the more i'm looking for infos, the less i sure ^^
(i apologise for my english)
cheers ! -

cheers !Definitely the medium....allthough you may just about fit the large you will find it too cumbersome as its a 'heavier' bike anyway...so better to err on the smaller side and stick with the medium I reckon

im 6 ft 2 and ive got the large and its stretched out about enough but theres absolutely no standover height for me, i wish id gone for the medium for abit more flickability, but i saved 250 quid buying the large :D

Deffo the Medium, I'm 6'3 and sometimes think the Large is a bit clumsy.

thanks everybody !
i'll go for a medium...time for the bike to cross the english channel

I´m 6´3" (191cms) and I bought the Medium Plug. Perfect for me. I´d consider going for the small if I were you.

Why a plug freestyler? there not even good compared to almost any other OTP at the same price, and even cheaper ones.
Also wrong topic!

I'm 5'7" and have a small Plug which fits me fine. I'd go small if I were you.

do you need to keep the saddle very high on a small freestyler plug? how is your ride? i dont want an aggressive ride position...
-
• #949
This is my small plug freestyler. I run the saddle a little higher than this (not much). I'm about 5'6 with a 29" inside leg -
