Keeping your phone dry?

Anyone used the Ortlieb Safe-It?

I googled it for you...

If so how are they, done a bit of reading and they seem ok, but any better than a freezer /sandwich bag?

Other suggestions welcome.

I second the clingfilm or just use hands free and stick it in an inside dry pocket

I use an old prison trick. It's a bit annoying if it rings though.

I use a ziploc bag presently but I think Ortlieb claim you can make calls and text while it's in their bag.
That's useful to me, but would like to know if that's only under certain circumstances or whatever...

I just got a slightly better phone and having it all bagged up and unusable is defeating the point of having it.

On a slightly related note my mate dropped his iphone in water. it stopped working so he left it in a pint glass full of uncooked rice and 2 days later - hey presto! worked again!

@OP this is what you need

They are good. A lot of noise comes through from the case if you use the phone whilst it's in the pocket. Also if your phone has any rubberised bits on it, it can be a right fnuking pain to get in and out. (I'm thinking google nexus)

On a slightly related note my mate dropped his iphone in water. it stopped working so he left it in a pint glass full of uncooked rice and 2 days later - hey presto! worked again!

i've done that too. twice. First dropped it in a pint, then dropped a pint on it. the top button got stuck so had to crack it open to release it. plenty gunk in there I tell ya

iphone still operable through a ziploc bag. I use them, also cheap.
