Replacement Dia Compe Hub Spacer?

Posted on
  • Repairing a puncture on the road the other night, I removed the wheel and the silver spacer (the bit serrated between the track nut and the cone in the picture) fell off, in two pieces.

    1. Does anyone know where I could get a suitable replacement?
    2. If not, could I just replace it with a narrow M10/1mm nut?
    3. Is it just a spacer, or is it acting as a tensioner/lock nut for the cone/something like that?
    4. Am I okay running without it in the mean time?

  • This happened to me before. I got a replacement from Condor without any problem. if you still have the two bits of the silver spacer, bring them in and they'll get you a new one. should be pretty cheap as well.

a narrow nut would work, but only temporarily while you get it sorted. you could probably move over one from another track hub if you've got a spare set.

    good luck.
