Sorry, you've lost me there.
This is my first season in London League after a gap of about fifteen years since racing around the midlands and south yorks. I take it as seriously as my current ability determines ie race the people around me and try to lose less time on the top guns. I just don't see the point in splitting the field up and would rather race against everyone.
As for rep of the league, I have found it very friendly.

So, as a newcomer, I shouldn't ever bother taking it seriously. I can see why the London league has the reputation it does.
What on earth are you on about?
From what I can see, **you **have been purposefully antagonisic, one person, and only one person, has taken the bait and entered into an argument with you and from that you conclude the London League has a poor reputation?
149 (we'll exclude your sniffy club mate) riders from Sunday would strongly disagree with you.

I don't understand all this getting hung up on having to miss out on your racing to support your girlfriend? This is just a local race league we're talking about. A few of the more serious riders might have a spare pair of wheels or possibly entire bike, but very few have a pit crew hosing their bike down every lap, unless their parents/partners/skivvys just happen to have nothing better to do.
I'm pretty sure the relatively recent surge in cyclo cross popularity is due to its accessibility, and all this talk of needing a pit crew doesn't reflect that. Maybe its all different round your way.

I think that cyclocross in London and the South East is in a fantastic place right now. If we manage to get some more courses and more races it's going to be incredible.

Some stunning riding from the London riders today at the Inter-area championships. You all looked like you were having a good time. What did you make of the course?

What did you make of the course?
Churned-up mud?

I hope to race. Need a partner though.
It should be noted, that I'm not very fit, so don't apply if you want to do well!

I've turned down potential partners on the "I might not be healthy enough to ride" basis. Intending to be there though, and ride with whoever needs me.
-
• #62
Not sure if I am in London or Derby so not committing to anything.

Finding a partner is never a problem. Every year there are at least 10 people who have been 'jilted' by hungover partners. I'll be going if I'm in a barely acceptable state!
Definitely my favourite cross event, you can actually go vaguely fast for the whole thing, rather than plodding along hanging on to your position for 3/4 of the race.

pit fail!

^I was watching that live the other day. He's not having much luck with mechanicals. Pedals, chains, and now his fucking pit-helper. Albert must have wondered WTF was going on in his peripheral vision :D

Hopefully some similarly hilarious tumbles from people attempting madison changes at the cross at HH tomorrow
Definitely needs to sort his pit-helper out, take it you saw the one earlier in the year where he cruised on into the pits and had no bike waiting for him. (http://www.sporza.be/permalink/1.903395)

Tomorrow should be good , nice and muddy, perfect for some comedy stacks.
So, as a newcomer, I shouldn't ever bother taking it seriously. I can see why the London league has the reputation it does.
