I’ve just sorted out some great chainsets and cranks with some real bargains. There are TWO CHAINSET THREADS TODAY – this is Part 1. Shipping on chainsets is £4; on cranksets £3.50 All cranks and chainsets have excellent threads and tapers.

just how many of these can one have??...

Argh! Interested in the CAMPAGNOLO RECORD CHAINSET (39T) for first free wheel commuter but just NO IDEA whether that would be too small. I've looked at gear ratio threads but am non the wiser - I just dunno what to start with. My frame is tiny (18 inches), I'm tiny (5ft 2), do you think this would mean a smaller chainring would be more suited?! Any clues welcome!

K, was perhaps a bit vague there, as I've had a few messages about this (thanks for these though!!)
I realise it's the gear ratio, and not the size of the individual chain ring, which makes it difficult/easy. Was really wondering, mainly, whether peeps thought a large chain wheel would look dumb on such a tiny bike and, as an aside, what a 'normal' ratio is for a mainly-flat ride (have looked on other threads but not fully concluded the answer myself)
