Harsh, but fair.

Less convinced... a list of all hubs in the UK != recommendations for the best one for the task.

I knew that, honestly. Someone should really have recommended one.
And for that reason........I'm out.

I have an on one flip flop hub and have done 2 winters in Edinburgh and now back in london without any probs. Only about 60 miles a week but I have no complaints, a lot of people swear by goldtec.

I thought it would be a good place to start.

Also, my Halo hubs are doing very well after 18 months all year all weather use.

I'd recommend the Phil Wood hubs :)

Phil Hubs?
You know you could have been B.A.Barracus in another life?

SystemEX/Ambrosio/On-One/Zenith/IRO/Token/SJS hubs (pretty generic) are fine. When the bearings go, just whack in a pair of 6000-2RS bearings, and off you go again. If your life is lived on a budget that is. Some are not constrained by this seemingly odd predicament.

Thanks for the replies. Anybody got a view on the Michie flip flop hubs?

I hope this isn't off topic but I am new to this forum and as you will tell not very tech savvy. I have a Genesis Flyer freewheel and need to replace the chain and presumably the rear ring. Genesis tell me that the original set up was - and I quote,
" - it's all 3/32" 8/9 speed sizing. the screw-on freewheels
are all a standard thread, it was an 18T fitted from new."
I may not be up to speed with the jargon but I am pretty useful with my hands so should be able to replace these parts if I knew what to buy. Can anyone recommend what parts to get and maybe the best place to get them? If you can thanks a lot.

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=46601I'm using a Shimano freewheel (and I beleive the Genesis flyer does as well) and haven't had any trouble - Others have though...
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=7805The freewheel requires a special tool to remove and replace...

^ yes, recommended
Just found out I need to replace my flip flop hub. I do about 150 per week in all weathers. Can any body recommend a few makes that have past the test of time / weather / abuse?
Thanks
