  • Exactly. They are no longer called "fixed".

Because Rapha doesn't stick with dying fads.

It's gears now for the city... long rides, hill climbs. And espressos.

  • From what I heard, they wanted to distance themselves a little from urban fixie skidders.

  • Didn't we all?

    (`_´)ゞ

  • Who do you think their urban/fixed/city riding range is aimed at?

Yeah, but it's not really aimed at your average fixie skidder is it?.. tweed jacket hardly going to match your fluro arrospok is it? That range is aimed as commuter Dad who "fancies one of those fixies the kids are riding"..

Anyway everyone in this thread is moaning about prices of general road stuff and having a collective apoplexy when they make a silk scarf or a hat etc etc.

bah, I don't care. Carry on

  • sweet lordy - a pair of rapha espresso cups on t'bay with bidding at nearly 100 notes…

  • Own up.. which one of you losers is bidding on them?

  • I think I'm more of a substance over style kind of chap. I own a few Rapha items and I really enjoy the quality and styling.

This man put across some very acute observations of how one can experience and appreciate style.

  • Rouleur 1 goes for £100 on eBay on its own.

  • Nothing beats a bit of trolling on the Rapha threads ;]

  • I know, the collectors market will pay top dorrah for the mag.

  • Rouleur 1 goes for £100 on eBay on its own.

    It has reached £300 before.

  • Yeah, but it's not really aimed at your average fixie skidder is it?.. tweed jacket hardly going to match your fluro arrospok is it? **That range is aimed as commuter Dad who "fancies one of those fixies the kids are riding".. **

    Have we met?

I've got a beautiful Boateng suit. Was a bit pricey though.

  • Surely we're not putting Rapha in the same bracket as Ozwald Boateng?

Picked up a couple of shirts for £35 each not long ago, at TKMaxx of all places.

  • boateng or rapha?

  • Boateng.

  • Have we met?

No, but you do find yourself wondering why all the kids are riding bikes with no brakes right?
    ;)

  • Well my new bib shorts arrived with a free jar of the new Chamois cream.

I must admit it does smell of a Provençal hillside, definite notes of rosemary and lavender.

  • Their Merino socks are only £15 (per pair), have they missed something?

It appears that this is on a level par with other merino sock brands and somewhat cheaper than others.

  • I buy bamboo fabric t-shirts. Organic fairtrade cotton jeans. Icebreaker merino thermals for skiing. And a 5-pack of cotton socks from ASDA for cycling. They're socks man. Am I missing something?

  • If you're wearing cotton socks for cycling, then yes: you're missing something.

  • Am I missing something?

    A touch of Lycra?

  • Yes, merino socks can be a tad pricey, yet Rapha (a company renowned for its priceyness) have kept theirs at a not so pricey price.

  • If you're wearing cotton socks for cycling, then yes: you're missing something.

    Could you explain what?
