  • hey people lets try and be a bit more supportive of the new task force
they are specifically looking at the issue now rather than doing it as some token gesture in the past
all the comments about their actions in the past are now irrelevant and basically are going to put people off reporting crime to them if they just think there is no point in reporting stuff

lets get behind the police on this one and try and get bike crime in london stopped
it's your ride / bike and i know you'd be pissed if it got stolen

here is the response i got back from them

***thanks for this info, yes this is something we would certainly take very seriously, have read the comments on the forum and we will definitely look into this, please feel free to tell anyone with any knowledge of these incidents to contact us.

They are now putting themselves out there for us it is now up to us to help
If you are not part of the solution you are part of the ( precipitate ) sorry old joke )) / problem

Couldn't agree more, cyclists as a community have nothing to lose and everything to gain by working with the police. It goes without saying that you get good police officers and not so good ones, the same is true of any industry or profession. This is obvious.

Unfortunately, rubbishing the police can be a popular past-time for some. Why? Because it's cheap and easy, not unlike some members of the forum.

If we try and work with the police (and take the not so clued up coppers with a large pinch of salt) it can only work to our advantage. And before anyone asks, no I don't work for the police nor am I getting a cut of a doughnut, I'm simply speaking on behalf of the 'common fucking sense collective'.
