  • Thank god its not my size! Very nice frame set Ian

  • Justin and everyone, many thanks for the kind words! It is re-conditioned and the re-spray was done by Senhor Vaz of Vaz finishes and all the finishing was done by me and very time consuming and not all easy as the decals aren't forgiving when applying to the frameset.

    Abraço e obrigado! c_c

  • Very good taste indeed !

  • This is one of the few times I wish I were smaller.
(If its a hijack I can pm you)
How did you finish the paint, get it painted, did the details and got it then clearcoated over?

  • Ha, somehow Stein I think you'd have to chop about a foot and a half off your legs, that way you'd be the same height as me, if only I wasn't going travelling I'd be all over this like a cheap suit

  • Hi Stein,

The frame was resprayed by Mario Vaz and I did all the masking and placed all the decals and finishing myself as I live four minutes away from Vaz's. No big secrets, but a lot of time and work put into it. Labour of love, or simply passion for Italian steel frames. I shall have another Colnago super from 1978 very shortly - pearl white with Italian flag on the top bar.

  • Very nice indeed, same with me, I bought a lovely Colnago recently and it turns out its a Kessles made Merckx(1979) so I will hopefully be doing a similar quality job on it soon.
So you did clearcoat over the detailing and decals?

  • Yes, Mario gives the frame a final layer of lacquer after placing on the decals.

  • Love this! And I'm so sooooo glad it isn't my size as I may well have had to turn to a life of crime so it could be mine.

  • my size, my colour and yesterday i was almost buying a colnago for £35 less than this with plenty of chips /wear on the paint .........

    hmmmm this is lovely !

  • I remember seeing this at HH. It looks even better in the flesh.

  • it should have ....

  • Yes, sold...
