  • substantiated rumour says that most of the Condor Rapha ladies team and Dan Craven will be racing in BFF Rollapaluza this evening...

  • Don't get me wrong Dale I enjoyed the audience participation! Bill sucks was really funny =)

Kind of agree about Tokyo - Osaka, although at least they admitted they were amateurs and stuff.

The Japanese tat discrimination was a bit shocking.

    Dan's a bit slow isn't he.

I'm pretty sure it relates to gang tattoos/gang members being the only heavily tattooed in the society there*.

*traditionally, obviously things are a bit different now.

  • yeah, not used to riding at that cadence, we've had a number of top roadies whos performed similarly, such as Tom Southam and Rob Hayles, however it's seems to be down to personal pedalling style adopted on the road...Simon Richardson for example has done 20.54 on the Rolla rigs.

    Results and photos.

  • Well now I know "bill sucks". Will it become the unofficial bff replacement to "bikes rock"?

I have no idea who was responsible for that.

  • i think that bff was really good this year.

big thanks to all those involved in putting on the event(s) and those who attended.

the london bike scene just keeps getting better and funnier etc cos of events like this.

    nice one.

  • ^ totally agree. I hope Brendt reads your comment; he kept asking if it was relevant anymore, like he thought it should end or something - (i for one told him he was nuts to think that!)

  • I loved Mat Hoffman - The birth of big air, what an amazing guy, his determination and skills are impressive to say the least! Also enjoyed The Long White Cloud, Tweed Run film and the polo film - well done Brendan for representing London in a great manner.

As for the Urban Shorts, there were a few that I enjoyed but I have to be honest and say I was a bit disappointed. I thought that the films last year were much better. I did not enjoy the Lucas Brunelle film and have full understanding for those who heckled and shouted 'boring'. Personally I don't like films that 'romantisice' reckless riding, don't get me wrong the guys in the film can ride, but it doesn't change the fact they ride like nutters and they put other people at risk, I think it's very selfish and gives other cyclist a bad name.

  • well put about LB pony and thanks :)

  • Well done, Adam, for getting second!

I agree. Been going to them since they started over here (I think - was it 2004 or 5? - I'll have to check my t-shirt) Anyways for me this one was the most fun. I think in part because I'm more open to and aware of the other events like the bike art, or the polo, or the fashion show or the parties... not just the films. The films are great but it's the 'extras' that make it a bit special.

I volunteered this year and that too added an extra dimension. The only general criticism? Need more films about road racing...

  • Joyride was great!!

  • Film of film festival Rollapaluza here: http://www.babelgum.com/6003487/vice...&utm_medium=ES

  • haha - great video, sorry to have missed that one. A few forum faces on it too

  • They say Mat Hoffman has a new short film- frantic searching????

  • They showed one at the festival chronicalling his life (I think Spike Jonze was involved possibly even directed it). Was about 40/50 mins long and good.
The Birth of Big Air I seem to recall.
