  • A dude crossing Southwark Bridge with what looked like a polo mallet sticking out his bag. that or a small golf club!

followed by his mrs maybe, on a black bike with white drops if I remember correctly. She looked good on the bike anyway. Probably why I forgot the colours!!

  • Spotted 18 guys admiting to being long term forum lurkers who popped by the stand in the bike show. Say hello guys you know who you are.

    Hello!
One of these may have been me. I work for pink and have long hair if that rings a bell.

Well at least this has finally made me get around to actually posting something on here, maybe its time for a post in the introductions thread?

Really enjoyed the stand at the cycle show by the way guys. Much better than ogling expensive road bikes i'll never be able to afford!

  • jonny spinning down Half Moon Lane earlier this afternoon, I was too cold to shout hey!

  • Spotted half the forum at Rollas tonight. Good seeing everyone!!!

  • TeenSlain

Around 11pm in front of LMNH, waving his mallet, showing signs of dementia and (possible) intoxication by some sort of canned drink.

Your one thigh weighs more than most of the forum... I say at least 4 hipsters! And i saw plenty last night...

  • a pair of bromptons colliding going south over blackfriar's bridge this morning. not quite sure what happened. as i came round the bend where the site entrance to the thameslink works are they were side by side in front of me in the bike lane. one wobbled, the other wobbled, then the lady bromptoner (on the outside) just went dive-splat on the road. everyone stopped. she seemed ok. bit shaken up but all in one piece. i left them to it.

  • white fixed with aerosomething black front wheel at the lights near kennington park this morning at about 8.20

  • Swore I saw Louis Theroux cycling through Holborn at 11. With a kid seat. But then I thought a lot of guys look like him, a and bloke who cycles with a kid seat is somewhat more likely to look like louis theroux.

    so..

  • Sounds like we should be doing forum outings for this kind of thing...

Assuming you're not on the planet Arrakis, where is this route of spice you speak of?

  • Black bike, black bern helmet, black cycling clothes, black bag. Bishopsgate.

Please for the love of god, knock off the lucus Brunnel videos and stop riding like a parady of a fixie rider.
You track stand like a wally, you run lights like you invented it, and I managed to catch you through traffic on a fully laden Brompton.

Please, just ride the bleeding thing. It's just a bike, it will not make you any cooler, especially if you continue to do long skidz into the lights, me and the flouro's were not impressed.

The Hipster Spice Route is as old as the dawn of Tim (founding hipster Tim Adamski-Marthwaiteles). Much of the spice route has been lost now to development and the decline of a rich oral history. The clearest remaining segment now travels from Holborn along Theobalds Road, through Clerkenwell, up Old Street and peters out as it crosses Kingsland Road.
Obtuse archeaologists have surmised, on available evidence, that originally it would have extended West as far as Imperial Wharf in West Brompton where ill fitting Carharrts would have been unloaded from the Thames. Bound eastwards it is likely to have had it's further reaches in Stratford where ineloquent traders would have sought to tempt the curious from the badlands of Ilford. There is also a suggestion of spurs headed towards both Stoke Newington and Greenwich by way of Rotherhithe, although the latter seems unlikely.
